b. 1977 in Saint Johnsbury, Vermont, USA
Abigail Bartell has been painting and making art for as long as she can remember (she thinks that's a dragon on the easel!)
After graduating from Northfield Mount Hermon (high school), Abigail headed "out West" to snowboard in Lake Tahoe, California. She attended several community/junior colleges while working toward a degree in Graphic Design. Abigail moved back to the East coast to be closer to her family, and eventually earned her undergraduate degree from Johnson State College (now Northern Vermont University).
In addition to being an artist, Abigail is a middle and high school visual art educator with her Master's in Art and Design Education from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She teaches many media- including stained glass, ceramics, and serigraphy. Painting is her passion, and she loves teaching and learning with her students.
She lives with her partner Jason, and their four boys in rural Vermont. They have dogs, chickens, guinea fowl, vegetable gardens, and about 500 maple trees. She is blessed to have a studio in her home, but takes a sketchbook and pen with her wherever she goes.
Abigail currently lives, works, and teaches in Danville, Vermont.
